I did… partly because I wasn’t being strict. And I rushed the diet a little since it was hard for me to follow in the beginning. It wasn’t as bad because I didn’t go back to the doctor. I handled it own my own. It took about a week or more till the flare went away. Do you have the breaking the vicious cycle book? My edition might be different from yours: Read chapt. 9 pg 69-70. You might have to cut out the bananas/fruits for now and just eat the soup for a while. eat smaller meals.
Yes, exactly! I’ve seriously advanced the diet on two occasions and had some really bad times afterwards. And, of course, I was completely blaming myself for making such careless choices and became kind of depressed; I think you can understand. But I do have the book and thank you so much for the advice. I’m also eating the yogurt sporadically throughout the day as it seriously calms my stomach. I dig the yogurt.
i’m going to have to try this diet. any recommendations for a newcomer?

I usually get “Motts natural” applesauce. But I also get the grocery-brand natural applesauce depending what’s on sale. Just check the labels and make sure there’s no sugar or corn syrup in it. Usually the ingredients will say: apples and water.
Yo there is some great sites on the net, with folks that are willing to help you with diet and what to start out with. Your new bible is BREAKING THE VICIOUS CYCLE, read know it and maybe when your ready and of course using the diet pass the word around. Sadly doctors that i have experienced are more mechincal about UC, which is the way they are trained. Not there fault. yogurt ROCKS. Meditation will help with the stress of always having the need to find the bowl. I ORDERED TAO OF BREATHING BOOK
fernpixel have you tried the cinnamon pancakes from EAT WELL FEEL WELL. very filling takes 20 to 30 with clean-up. Makes enough for 3 mornings and u could freeze them for future useage.E-MAIL me if anyone doesnt have the book and I’ll give you the direction.
